I'd like model the filling of a rectangular tank and due to a crack, water is expelled from the tank onto the floor.

i can model and simulate water filling the tank, how do i model the expellling of water on the floor and the flow after that?

any advise is very much appreciated

In exactly the same way ... just continue your geometry over the tank edge, down the tank exterior wall and onto the surrounding floor...

Hi,jemteo

I am sorry I cann't give you some help. Can you give me some advices on filling tank simulation?

I want to simulate such a tank filling:

the inlet of the vessel is at the bottom, without outlet, and filled with air at 5000Pa.

the liquid flow into it by the pressure of 0.5MPa. How should I set the domain and boundary conditions? Homogeneous Multiphase?

Good luck to you! Regurds,James

Hi James

Use the Volume over fraction model.Initialize the model with 100% air and 0% water.

Hi,Rajit

I did just as you said. But how do I know the filling is good? From the streamline?

By the way,How can I get the Animation of water flow? can you give me some advice in detail ?I know how to use the animate, but cannot solve this situation. Regards,

James

Use the various time steps of the transient simulation to animate the spilling.
