importing mesh from icemc icemcfd 4 to icemcfd 10

Hi all,

I have a mesh that was created using ICEMCFD 4.0 and i want to import it into ICEMCFD 10. Is this possible? If yes, pls show me how to do it.

James

The mesh formats have not changed. You should be able simple to open the .uns file.

If you're talking about blocking files - that should simply work also.

Can you be more specific on the problems you are seeing?

Re: importing mesh from icemc icemcfd 4 to icemcfd

Hi,

Thanks for the repose to my post. The problem is that the meshes we have are structured. When i tried to upload the file, i got the following error message:

"Loading domain "domain.1" ... domain is not an unstructured domain file domain.1: couldn't read domain file Error: 0 Error in opening Mesh file. Unloaded unstructured domain"

Any idea how we can go around this?

Thanks again for the help.

James

ps: "domain.1" is the name of the mesh file, i am not sure whether the problem is from the extension.

Re: importing mesh from icemc icemcfd 4 to icemcfd

For Block Structured meshes you should have a file ending in Multiblock - or named Multiblock. This is the control file for loading the structured mesh. The 'multiblock' file will reference the domain.1 file (and any other domains).

Or - you could load the geometry and blocking files and re-create the mesh in V10.
