Default ICEM question

Hi,

I am creating a hex mesh in ICEM with blocks around a hull form. I am using the tutorials and while crating the blocks different names are given such as LIVE or SOLID. With different name there is another colour also. Is there any significance of the name and colour used?

I cannot find the answer to any manual (except colour difference in curves and surfaces) so can anyone help me about it?

Thanks in advance Joe

No significance, other than surfaces common to a particular part (BC) share the same colour.

You can give the blocks names of your own choosing ...

The part(name) of the blocks will be the grouping/part for the volume elements created. Also - the default projections for boundary faces of a volume part (blocking part) will be to a surface. So if you have blocks in different Parts your best bet is to have surfaces between them. If you only have one volume in your model, it's best to have all blocks belong to the same Part.
