Default Momentum source in a self-contained enclosure!!

I am trying to simulate the flow condition inside a Base Transceiver Station, an outdoor shelter used by telecommunication industry. It consists of varuious electronic heat sources, PCM budles and three axial flow fans, in a leaf proof camber.

The computational domain consists of a shelter having fans inside it to circulate the air. Their is no physical inlet or outlet.

For my CFD simulation, I need to add a momentum source in place of fan! Can some one guide me do that in CFX?

Thanks a lot,

Amod Kumar

Hi, I recently had a similar problem. I am not sure, but this might work: Create a subdomain or a source point and set a virtual continuity source. I think you need to set a mass flow source inside, and thus a sink with the same rate at another loaction (e.g. close to the source).

Hi,

Have you tried running the simulation with a set of known initial conditions? You might have to do the calculation in two steps since your momentum source comes from results of initial computation. Good luck!
