Hi,

i want to solve a problem on conjugate heat transfer (i.e, problem which concentrates both on convection & conduction).

The problem is that of a heat Exchanger one.

cold fluid ( water ) will be flowing through inside the pipe & hot air will be passing over this pipe.

know i want to know the wall temp. of the pipe ( for both inside and outside surfaces of pipe), heat transfer co-efficient and pressure drop.

how to set the problem in CFX.

If you have the software, you have the tutorial already.

Import the geometry from 3D CAD to ANSYS Workbench's DesignModeler. The most important thing is that you have to create multibody part from your assembly. It is done with DesignModeler Tools menu-->From new part. After this you go ANSYS CFX mesher in workbench, and here the mesher will create composite region walls (that means two contact walls on a boundary will join [combine] in one wall). thus the CFX will automatically create this joined wall condition, this will the conjugate heat transfer condition on the wall.

Once more: the main thing is modelling multibodies CAD modell (in your CAD system, or Design modeler), and it will create the appropriate wall model to conjugate heat transfer.

Hallo San! Did you find tutorial file for your problem? I have to solve a similar problem,but effectively there is no tutorial in which two domains with two different fluids are present! Is it possible set 3 domains: 1 fluid (water), 1 solid and 1 fluid (air)? If yes,how I can do it?

Hi I am solving a conjugate heat transfer problem with three domain. The air domain is sandwiched between two copper domain. I have given Heat flux at one of the surface and fixed temperature at the other surface. The air property I have defined at bulk mean temperature which i have calculated theoretically. The analysis is converging but i am not getting the desired temperature at the surface where i have defined heat flux. Can u suggest me.
