convergence analyses CFX

Hello,

I'm conducting a meshing-time step convergence analyses for a bubble column simulation using Euler-Euler model with cfx.

I started by doing transit simulations for different mesh sizes and different time steps. This method is time consuming.

Thus, I'm wondering is it possible to conduct mesh convergence analyses for steady simulations and when it converges. I use the last mesh to conduct transit simulation and time step convergence study??

If the flow/thermal structures in the domain are in the same region between steady-state flow and the transient simulation, that would be a good approximation.

However, if important structures are traveling through the domain and the mesh is optimized to the final steady-state location of those structures, your transient simulation would be compromised, correct?

Summary: mesh-time step independent studies are case dependent
