time to save *.mpg and *.jpg

dear all,

I would like to ask you if you have had once a similar problem. Why does it take so much time to save a *.jpg - about half an hour, and animation *.mpg more than 2 hours. At the end the *.jpg is only 120 KB.Is it something wrong with the settings? I have a very good notebook - 1.83 GHz, 1.5GB RAM, Intel Duo core centrino. Can you give me some tips? Thanks a lot.

Dear Anna I did it not long ago and for me it was faster. Do you do it from .trn fails? How large are they? May be when you create .trn fails you save all the information (mesh + all fields) not only that information, which you use in .jpg?

Hi Target,

my analysis is steady-state, so I do not have this file at all.

cheers

Perhaps you should try another format, e.g. png. And usually a screen dump is muuuuuuuuuch faster. However, care must be taken because windows that overlap your figure will be captured as well.

Streamline/Skin Friction line can take up to 15 mins to generate, depending on your mesh size, no. of seeds etc...

Contour/ Vector plots should be done pretty quickly, unless you have memory problem.

Don't try jpg. Quality is bad.
