How to access the mesh quality before simulation?

Hello,
I learnt that CFX provided a guideline to access the mesh quality such as by referring to its edge length ratio, connectivity number etc. However these can only be calculated in the CFX-Post using the 'Function calculator'. In another word, we have to first run the simulation using that mesh, then only we load the simulation results in the CFX-Post and access its quality. This seems to me like I'd been given the factsheet pertaining the reliability of a newly launch airbus only after I've took the flight. Isn't it we should calculate the quality of the mesh before running the simulation? Can we actually do that in CFX? Anyone can solve my puzzle? I'll really appreciate it. Confused, Cheng |

You can open mesh files (.gtm, .grd, .def) directly in Post, so you can check the mesh before you run it. If you are using ICEM, you can check quality statistics there.
