Hello Zeinab,

We will need some more information.

What are the specs of your PC, how many cores are you using and how heavy (i.e. how many grid-cells) is your computational model? Also, which version of CFX are you using?

CFX should not crash your entire PC. That suggests something is severely wrong with your PC. Are you sure you are not overheating your CPU? Is your CPU cooling fan working properly? Is there some other software interfering with it (virus checkers are notorious for this)? Is there some network glitch?

Perhaps you are using up all your RAM? I have seen PCs become unresponsive when they max out the RAM.

Dear Friends

Thanks very much for your help.

My PC's cpu is Core i7-4790K @ 4.00GHz and its RAM is 32. while running I always check cpu and ram but it just use 13 G of Ram. It has 3 hards (2 SSD +1 HDD) and the space is huge. I checked the internet connection but no matter it is on or off such a thing happens.

I dont know what the problem might be.

Best regards

Doubt that cfx is causing this, especially with evcelica's hint and RAM not maxed out. Grab a benchmark on the internet and see if your machine can run this properly.

And don't forget overheating the CPU is a possibility. That can lead to mysterious PC crashes. Most big name workstations are pretty well designed with big safety margins, but if you have overclocked it or bought a no-name brand you can have problems with CPU heat.

Thank you all for your help. the problem was the temperature of CPU which was over 90 C so I changed its fan with a better heat sink and it is now working perfectly.

Nice, now you can carry out a simulation to determine how much more heat your cpu can produce before going back to 90 deg
