how to setup sub/super sonic mixed boundaries
 

hi,

We are running a turbine simulation. The inlet local Mach number is 0.15 while the outlet is 1.1. All other conditions are available (inlet pressure, outlet pressure, inlet velocity, outlet velocity etc). What is the best way to set boundary conditions? and what is the best model to simulate in CFX-10?

for this kind of case usually inlet total pressure & temperature with flow direction are used.

outlet... is that mach no. in the absolute or relative frame?

relative frame? you can use outlet static pressure or mass flow rate.

absolute frame? then probably a supersonic outlet and hope you can get the right pressure rise...

of course i mean pressure drop not rise.
