hi,

According to CFX10 manual, looks like we can handel turbulence transition model. I want to set some parameters. I selected SST model, but there is not such as transition model tab at all. I tried to input from ccl, but it always says "it is not physically valid".

What should I do to get access to the transition model?

Thanks

i talked to an Ansys guy. Seems like we need to buy some sort of "advanced turbulence" license to activate this transition model.

Put this lines in the .pre file, because CFX 5.7.1 doesnt have a GUI option.

TURBULENCE MODEL:

Option = SST

TRANSITIONAL TURBULENCE:

Option = Gamma Theta Model

TRANSITION ONSET CORRELATION:

Option = Langtry Menter

END # ONSET CORRELATION

END # TRANSITIONAL TURBULENCE

END # TURBULENCE MODEL:

And read the manual to know about other models. Hope it helps.

Dear Steven and Santiago,

The transition model in ANSYS CFX has been evolving over the years (and releases)..

It became visible in ANSYS CFX 10.0 which is a good reason not to use a previous version (in 5.7.1 was beta feature).

Most important is that you require an additional license to use/access it. Please contact you CFX help desk or provider for information.

Opaque.
