Default Temperature gradient?

Hi all,

I need to include in my simulation a momentum source which depends on the temperature gradient of the fluid. However:

1) Seems that the (letīs say) "Temperature.Gradient X(Y,Z)" is not part of the variables forseen in CFX 5. Am I right? At least, it is not displayed in the CFX-post as for density or velocity...

2) How should i proceed? Is there an easy way or example on how to calculate gradient and use it to define a user source?

Thanks is advance, Maria.

Dear Maria,

Please read the documentation about accessing the <Variable>.Gradient via User Fortran.. That is the way you access the gradients in ANSYS CFX 10.0..

ANSYS 11.0 is available if you contact you help representative.. Then, you can access the Temperature.Gradient X/Y/Z directly in CEL.

Opaque..
