Cyclone

I have drawn a Cyclone with workbench. Then, as usual, I tried to make the mesh but I couldn´t do it without errors. One of the problems was that there were little angles in the geometry. I simplified the entrance to get rid of the errors, but I know that the results are not going to be very representative. Can anyone give me a clue of what can I do to solve this?

Use a hybrid mesh.

Try to use virtual planes / edges to further improve the geometry.

Re: Cyclone

What does your cyclone look like? How much simplification you need to do to get rid of small angle issue? I recently did a cyclone modeling, the one modeled by Fluent in the second QNET-CFD workshop. I also need to modify the conjunction point where inlet pipe meets the main body. But I believe that modification is small.

It's the same problem, and I also have problem in the outlet. I tried a modification in the angle but the error remained. The modifications I did change absolutly the result so I think I won't use that. I'am trying to learn to use the ANSYS ICEM where I can make a more complex meshing. Bye. Thanks.

Re: Cyclone

I have used the Ansys Icem and it seems that it can be done without problems. I still don´t understand exactly how to use properly, but it makes a mesh abd without errors.
