Hi Everyone.
I have a 3D velocity field(with space cordinates) from my experiments at different time steps. My experiment has generated (say 1000 files at a gap of dt) and I want to use these files to be read at inlet of my domain in cfx pre. I tried intialize profile data but all the files cannot be uploaded and read. I am new to cfx and I am not sure how to implement it. I want cfx to read all my files as time step changes i.e., for 1st time step read 1st file, for next time step read 2nd file and so on. The files are big and i cannot enter it manually. Someone can please share his experience. Thanks in advance. |

Transient profiles is not a feature out of the box. You may want to contact ANSYS CFX support for guidance on what is the best option to achieve this..
On the file size, not sure what you mean about files being big. The only that really matters is the files contain data compatible with the mesh being used. A profile with more spatial resolution than the mesh being used is a non-trivial overhead not only on memory but on interpolation as well. Do you have enough transient data (enough resolution) for the required time step to be used in the simulation?

I understand spatial resolution cannot be completely mapped but I am trying to be as close as possible. If i manage to use these time varying files then I can also work on spatial resolution if it turns out to cause problem in my solutions. |

Sounds like you will need to use a user fortran routine to do this, including possibly with some interpolation (in time and/or space). Have a look at the CFX user fortran routines.
