Time averaging results from a transient run

Hi. I'm trying to solve a mixing problem between a hot and cold gas in a swirl chamber. After several tries I've decided to model the problem using The Reynold Stress (SSG) model running in transient mode. So after several time steps I now want to make a time averaged contour plot of the temperature profile based on all the time steps. How do I do that using CFX POST? kind regards FS

Turn on transient statistics in PRE prior to running your case. You can select which time averaged variables you want for post processing.

OK. Thank you. I will certainly remember that NEXT time I run the case.
But what about my results for now?

Dear Michael,

The final results file contains only the last time step results.. There is no information about previous timesteps. If you require historical information (unfortunately) you must rerun the case, and indicate what kind of transient information you would like to see when post-processing..

You can do that in CFX-Pre/Output Control/Transient Results..

The section for transient statistics in the same panel, under Transient Statistics tab..

Did CFX-Pre not warn you about setting up a transient simulation w/o transient results file?

Good luck,

Opaque.

Hello, would you tell me the details about the transient statistics? I have difficulties how to postprocess the time averaged variables?
