Shared license fluent/cfx
it is possible that fluent/cfx share the same annual license. For example if I want to work 3 days wit fluent then 4 days with CFX during a week.
how do you set it up? thanks |
Re: Shared license fluent/cfx
My understanding is that you would have to buy both CFX and Fluent licenses. There is no sharing of licenses.

Re: Shared license fluent/cfx
In the future it will be possible to either choose a Fluent or a CFX solver. The questions are: when and at what price.......

Re: Shared license fluent/cfx
this is runbbish, I only want to pay according to my usage. Ansys should get their act together

Re: Shared license fluent/cfx
ANSYS has it's act together and is going to implement this.
Unfortunately such a change can only happen when a major release happens and there was no time to do this for 11.0. Should be available for the 11.0 service pack. |
Re: Shared license fluent/cfx
Hi Heck...
sorry man (or woman ;-)) but....read your own words.... it was over 1 year ago now that deal was made public... Not enough time..that is "having your act together"!!! .and the answer is going to be a service pack...come on ....talk about complete lack of customer focus!!! This sounds a lot like the day Ansys eliminated CFX-build on new-years day...because it was not in Ansys's best interest! There are a lot of users paying a lot of money and are looking for a plan.... Here are some tips on the issues...just for your managament....no charge this time...LOL - so we get this service pack....then what about support and training....??? - what about pricing issues.... say I paid x dollars for a cfx license and fluent was 1.2 x....then joe (or Joanne...;-))down the steet paid 20% less than me but is running the same solvers? - long term what is the solver going to look like....I would like to start doing work that will still be backward compatable in 3 years! It looks like it is time for some fast and flexible competition to move in! Get your act together for real for next time. Regards, Bak_Flow |
