Hi All,

I'm looking to extract velocity profiles in CFD-Post for a pitching and morphing airfoil simulation in CFX. I know how to calculate the line normal to a point of the airfoil and extract the data for a static airfoil. The problem I'm having is that my airfoil is going to be pitching up and down as well as morphing in shape. I want to extract the same three locations on the pressure and suction surface of the airfoil at any given time.

Does anyone have a good solution to this problem? Any sort of automation to complete this task?

Thanks in advance for any and all advice,

Thomas

If you define monitor points on the locations of interest you can set that they move with the mesh. So as long as you don't slide along your mesh or remesh this should work.
aero_head and tsprengeler like this.

Thank you very much for the reply. I will go ahead and try this out with a previous pitching simulation I set up and see what kind of results I get.
