Hi Everybody,
I have a question regarding transient file and statistics. I am kind of confused after I read the manual. I am using cfx11. Under output control, I created transient results with giving 5 seconds interval. I also created transient statistics of averaging without specifying start and stop iteration lists. After the run, I have transient files at every 5 seconds [0,5,10...]and a result file. My question is, what do I have in transient file which corresponds to the solution of 20th second? Do I have the averaged field of solutions between 15th and 20th seconds or between 0th and 20th seconds? Do I have only the average of two fields or all the time step solutions between these two times? I am really confused about the averaging. I am also not sure what I have in result file. Do I have the average of all time steps or the created transient files? Any help would be highly appreciated. Thanks a lot Mike |

If you turned on transient statistics without specifying start and stop iteration lists the tranavg values in the final res file represent the transient averages over ALL iterations.
Transient results and transient statistics are totally independent concepts. |

Thanks a lot Joe, I am aware of the fact that transient results and statistics are totally independant. But I do not understand the tranavg values in my transient files. Mike
