Error when loading result file in post

Hi!

When I try to load any result files (.res + .bak + .trn) in POST (CFX 10.0) I get the following message:

---------------------------

ERROR Unable to load this file. The only file types which CFX-Post can currently read are:

1) CFX Results or Definition files

2) CFX Mesh files

3) CFX-4 Dump files

4) CFX-TASCflow files (must have grd/rso, bcf and prm files)

5) CGNS Files

(Error reading dataset G/TOPCAT)

--------------------------------------

I have remoeved all .lck file but it did not help.

Can anyone please help me!

Thanks in advance!

Regards

Sigurd

Is the file corrupt? Did you generate the files in the 11.0 solver? A CFX 11.0 solver file will not open in 10.0...

Re: Error when loading result file in post

All files are solved in 10.0 and have worked fine before... so it's really strange! But thanks anyway! regards Sigurd

Are they full results files? Sometimes I have had the same error when files do not contain some of the besic fundamental variables or if the files have become corrupted (normally through moving files around in windows from linux)

Re: Error when loading result file in post

I have problems with both some steady state result files and some transient result files. I do the calculations on a linux based mainframe computer. I have tried viewing the results on both the linux system and on a PC without moving the data from the Linux system. It usually works fine! how can I check if the files are corrupt.. and are there anything to do about it?

thanks Sigurd

Re: Error when loading result file in post

Try running the result file as the definition file in CFX Solver. If it starts running without an error then the res file is good. If not then it is corrupt and cannot be post processed. Hope this helps. Luke
