energy source at boundary VS wall heat flux

Hi,

just a question:

imposing an energy source at a wall boundary condition (W/m^2) or a wall heat flux is the same?

Thanks-

Dear CFX New,

It depends of what you want to achieve.. Both of them dump the energy into the domain at the specific boundary. However, a boundary source has no connection with the flow physics near the boundary, i.e. near wall treatment, while the Wall Heat Flux boundary condition applies the proper near wall treatment. Near wall treatment includes turbulent flow and thermal radiation closures.

Opaque.
