how to define different regions in icem ?

hi guys

in icem i have a planar surface (2d)and i extruded the mesh of this surface by one element but it only extrude the mesh not the curves of the surface and i want to define different regions like inlet, outlet, top bot to solve in cfx but i have only volume side top

side is a composite region consists of the different regions so how to define this regions seperately to apply the boundary conditions to it in cfx ?

n.b: i have read all the previous posts and i didnot get it

thanks

You must select the surface elements and place them into the desired parts after the extrusion process.

but selection of the surface elemnts is not possible because surfaces is not defined
