Gradient

Hi ,

I dont know how cfx can compute the gradient of any variable. I have some data (x,y,Q(x,y)) where x and y are grid nodes and I want to get the gradient of Q using the gradient computing features of cfx. Is it possible with CFX 11 to get an external vector Q(x,y) defined on the specified grid nodes and then compute the gradient of that? Or does it only work for internal variables of CFX? And How can it be done (in Pre,Post---I am using CFX 11) Thanks in advance

Re: Gradient

You can't get directly the gradient of additionnal variable. Howerver you have to do it via fortran Routines. For more details see User Fortran in Ansys-CFX Solver Modeling Guide.(In Page 498) they treat an example a little similar to your question. Hope it helps Best Regards
