mass fraction source

I'm emulating a mixture of multiphase flows, and I want to add a source term for the mass of a component, and if I use the mass fraction source term (smoke.mf), what I'm adding is the mass fraction of the component, or the mass of the component.

This sounds like something you should do a quick CFD experiment to work out. Do a simple test case which uses a mass fraction source and see.
