Bounds error detected

Hello,

I'm doing automatic backups of a simulation and after the writing of each backup, the solver gives the following message:

>Bounds error detected

>---------------------

>Variable: Turbulence Eddy Frequency

>Locale : Inlet

Does anyone know what this means ? In the inlet plane I specified experimental profiles of velocity and turbulence.

Thanks, Felix

Dear Felix,

Turbulence Eddy Frequency, aka Omega is negative somewhere in the inlet.. Please check the interpolated numbers from the specified experimental values produce positive values.

Hi Opaque,

Thanks for your help. I checked Omega at the inlet and the value is not negative but rather tends to infinity (1e30)in the near-wall region.

It is not surprising since the turbulent kinetic energy profile (k) is stricly 0 at the wall leading to a division by zero (omega~epsilon/k).

Do you think that this can cause any other problem ? I have trouble with convergence but in another region...

Thanks,

Felix
