FSI

Hello, I am working on a FSI project using CFX10.0.There is a example in the tutorials about FSI modelling but it is "without modelling solid deformation". How can I simulate solid deformation? Is there a tutorial about it? Can anyone guide me? Thanks.

Hi Siavash, I'm a newbie so don't quote me, but I looked into this and it seemed to me from the tutorials that in order to simulate fluid flow on a deforming mesh in 10.0 you need to build your own fortran-routine (there is a tutorial on that I believe). In ansys 11 this is all integrated in workbench and it is much easier to simulate deformation-induced fluid flow. Hth

You can do 2 way FSIs in 10.0. You need to set up the .inp file in ANSYS classic though, and run things through the ANSYS product launcher. You don't need user Fortran to do this. However, there are no public domain tutorials that I know of.
