Advection Term

Hi,

I am solving a modified NS equation where the the advection term is of the form: del*( (V-W)*V ), instead of the typical del*(V*V).

'W' is a known function of spatial co-ordinates.

How can I modify the NS equations? I tried to move the term del*(W*V) to the RHS and use it as a source term. If anybody has anyother suggestions please let me know.

Hi,

You won't be able to do this in CFX. The normal form of the advection term is hard coded into CFX so cannot be changed. You will probably have to write your own code to do this.

Hi Glen,

Thats what I thought. Thanks

I had to make simulations with the advection term switched off some time ago. I asked the CFX support and they fixed it for me. So I suggest you can ask them and expose your problem to them.

Thanks Samuel.

I would do that.
