Exporting mesh to CFX Pre

Hi I am trying to export my mesh from ICEM 11 to CFX 11, but i am not being able to feed it into CFX. In ICEM i can save my mesh with uns file type, but this file type is not supported by CFX Pre. Any Idea how to go about solving this problem. Thanks for your help!

Re: Exporting mesh to CFX Pre

Actually, the pre takes .cfx5 file.

#click on the "output" tab (u will find it in the line of Geometry,Mesh, Blocking etc tab). #Then Select " Select Solver" there u should select "Ansys CFX" for output solver option and "Ansys" for common structural solver option.

#After that again u have to click on the "output " tab again. and then select "Write input". there u can save the file as .cfx5.

# In CFX-pre u should start a new simulation and click on mesh, then import mesh, then open ur .cfx5 file.

Hi,

You have to use the generate CFX mesh button on the toolbar. The uns format is for ICEM only.
