FEM & FVM
Hi,all Physical quantities will be calculated on the nodes within FVM(Finite Volume Method). And interpolation will be employed to calculate the values on the boundaries. But I do not know how does FEM(Finite Element Method) works. Anyone can explain that? THANKS IN ADVANCE!

Re: FEM & FVM
It works with interpolation in each element. But is a wide question. You should read BATHE or Zienkiewic (a very good books in FEM) or download some stuff on the network. Santiago.

Re: FEM & FVM
I just want to know the obvious difference. Maybe I have to refer to more literatures. Thanks for your advise. ^_^

Re: FEM & FVM
Rikio: There are a LOT of differences. FVM works with the Mass Conservation Principle, while FEM works with "beam descomposition" philosophy. Both methods are really different, the math and the methodology are also different.Cheers, Santiago
