Has anyone had trouble with importing a part (sldprt) from Solidworks into DesignModeler as an attached file and it only comes through as faces? I get a warning (yellow tick) that the parasolid didn't import correctly, so the body came through as 36 individual parts (faces).

I have not had this problem before, so not sure if it might be something I've missed in SolidWorks.

I'd be grateful if anyone can help with this query.

Jenny

Dear Jenny,

If your geometry is complex, the solid might have been created in your CAD system with an increased geometric tolerance. Usually, you can also set this parameter in the import routines of CAE programs. However, if this is really the cause of your problem, using an increased geometric tolerance can cause unexpected results, when performing topological operations. In this case, a better solution could be to improve the CAD model.

Marcelo.
