Hi every one,

I would like to know, how do you set the moving mesh parameters in CFX 11.0 for casing with the rotating vanes inside (assume there are 4 vanes on the hub and they are enclosed by the cylyndrical casing).

hub is rotating about 100 rpm for instance (so the vanes attached to them).

please guide me in this regard

Thanking you Anant

You wouldn't use moving mesh for this. Just specify the rotation rate in the domain object. See the tutorials for more information on rotating and multiple frames of reference.

Thanks for the reply,

now my problem is, Hub is not concentric to the shell casing, i.e. center of the hub geomery and the our casing is not concenrtic, so things which i reffered to as vanes acts actually like a plunger and touches the outer casing's inner surface. while hub is rotating these plunger-vanes go back-and forth to adjust the distance available (since both hub and outer casings are eccentric),

how do I specify the BC for this ...?

Ah, so it is a vane pump. That's a little more difficult. You'll need to specify the relative motion of the nodes algebraically. Too much to get into in the forum.
