CFX mesh cause software blocked

Hi there,

I have problem in using CFX mesh 10.0. Some times when I make mesh preview or generate mesh file, the CFX was blocked just after I hit the preview. The status bar shows: Generating surface mesh on selected region...

I did not figure out what problem can cause CFX blocking. I tried to import model parts one by one to check which part can cause the problem, but even a model part that can be successuly meshed alone will cause this problem after add it to a group of other part that can be meshed properly.

Thanks

Ahlo

The meshing process may be hanging. Open your Windows task manager and look for the active meshing process (probably using up CPU time or a lot of memory) and kill it.

Thanks CycLone,

cup and memory seems fine. I have 8G memory, it was only 0.9G used.

I can get rid of the problem by connect all the part together with another bigger peice part.

It is interesting that if this bigger peice did not connect to the others, the problem also occured.

Hi Ahlo,

The point wasn't that the memory was insufficient, I just mentioned the memory as a way to figure out which process is the meshing one. When it hangs like this, just kill the batch meshing process (not Workbench).

The meshing process can sometimes get hung; in your case it is probably due to the topology of the model. This is clearly a bug and was probably fixed in version 11.

The meshing executables you may see in the task manager can be found in C:\Program Files\ANSYS Inc\v110\AISOL\CFXMeshApplet\bin\winnt. They include:
