Extruded 2D mesh of cylindrical disc

Default Extruded 2D mesh of cylindrical disc

Hi. Is there a way to create an extruded 2D mesh cylindrical disc. when i specify the 2 locations as the top and bottom faces it tells me that "one or more of the locations is made up of faces without vertices".
