Calc lift forces in CFX (Ansys 10)

Hi all, I'm a new user to Ansys, but used Fluent many moons ago. I'm trying to get the lift force on a 2 element wing assembly. In Fluent this used to be easy, but I'm struggling with Ansys. At the end of the results run, I get Pressure and Viscous forces on walls, in x, y and z. 1) Is the force in Y the lift force, and x the drag? In what units? Newtons? 2) Are these the total forces on the whole model (2 elements and an end plate)? 3) I'm getting a large Z-force, this would seem wrong to me? 4) Is there any way to get the lift force contribution from each element separately? Any help gratefully received! Fin

Hi,

The easiest way is to specify each wind as a separate wall boundary condition and use the CEL expressions force_x, force_y and force_z to get the force components. You send the CEL expression to a monitor point so you can extract it.
