Sliding Mesh

Hello everybody, I have two domains as shown in pic. The Square one is constant domain (not moving) but the inner square is rorating and there should be a connection between these two domains.

There is no image on your post. See this FAQ on how to post images: https://www.cfd-online.com/Wiki/Ansy...n_the_forum.3F

But I think I know the answer to your question anyway. To connect two mesh regions which slide (translate) relative to each other you should use a GGI, set to transient rotor stator. That will resolve the interface correctly from fully shut, partial open to fully open.

Fixed. Please look again.

Does the inner block do a circular motion, keeping its outer edge as an interface to the outer block?

If so then this is easily done using a rotating frame of reference for the inner block, and joined to the outer block with a GGI set to transient rotor-stator.

The CFX tutorials on turbomachinery will show you how to set these simulations up.
