Flow analysis for a centrifugal pump

Hi all,

I want to carry out the leakage flow analysis for a centfrifugal pump.

I have made few assumptions in carrying out modelling.

1. i have merged the distance between volute inlet &

impeller outlet

My aim is to capture the flow leakage near the impeller & volute region.

please suggest on how to carry out the analysis further.

Thanks in advance to all

Hi Raj,

Would it be possible for you to send it across to me and I can take a look at it if you want?

As part of the CFX team ourselves, if needed and approved by yourself, we could set up the file for you or train you in doing such analysis.

I'm doing the same analysis for a centrifugal blood pump but have been unsucessful in obtaining values which are close to the experiment. You can obtain some information about modelling this from 'Computational Fluid Dynamics Analysis of the Pediatric Tiny Centrifugal Blood Pump (TinyPump)'.

Hi Joel, is it possible for you to take a look at my simulation?

hi melvin,
its almost 8 years now, anyway...i have a problem with boundary conditions of the same case when using Fluent. Have you tried Fluent, can you help me ?
