a simple question

Guys, I am new to cfx

what is the difference between cmdb and gtm file

I suppose that gtm is a file I am following an example in cfx toturial (example1)

and after creating the volume mesh when I save the file , a cmdb file gets created bit the instruction says a gtm file should get created

is there any difference

thank u for the inputs

Re: a simple question

cmdb file has ALL the information regarding the face/line spacing, element size, inflation layers, 2D composite zone etc.....every information which you might need if you want to modify your mesh in CFX-Mesh (inside workbench)

While gtm file JUST has the mesh and details of 2D regions created at the time of mesh generation.

you can use either of two files in CFX-Pre....

cmdb should take more memory to store.

you can change your settings in workbench if you want to save for cmdb and gtm files...otherwise it will only save cmdb files
