icem hexa mesh fot turbine
Hi, I'm doing various tutorials to learn how to generate mesh with icem hexa. My goal is to generate a mesh for a turbine with very skew blade and complicated shape. Can someone tells me about any tutorials, article or hint about that subject? Thank you Zio

Re: icem hexa mesh fot turbine
I had been worked on a group as a reasearcher that made a simulation like that with ANSYS CFX-v11.0, using hexa meshes, but i didnīt make this kind of mesh! Itīs very difficult. You must create blocks inside of each region of the channel of stator and rotor. Around the profile, you have to create an o-grid mesh type. This kind of mesh brings better results with less computational effort.

Re: icem hexa mesh fot turbine
Hi,
You are correct in that meshing turbomachinery in difficult. ANSYS has a product called Turbogrid which may help. It generates very nice turbomachinery meshes. Glenn Horrocks |
Re: icem hexa mesh fot turbine
U can export the data from bladegen and make a hexa mesh for the channel stator/rotor on icem cfd using blocks! itīs not easy!

Re: icem hexa mesh fot turbine
Hi,
I have never used turbogrid but I understand it can generate the meshes also. No need to export to ICEM. Please correct me if I am wrong. Glenn Horrocks |
