finding drag and lift force
Hi all,

Does anyone knows how to view the time history plot of forces, such as drag and lift force? I managed to solve my transient simulation of flow past cylinder, and right now i want to figure out the forces acting on the cylinder body.

Is there a way to find the total force acting on the body over the time steps that i had done?

Thanks in advance, Deloat

Re: finding drag and lift force

Generate a CEL expression to calculate lift and drag forces. Send the expression to a monitor point. Redo the simulation and the data will be visible for every timestep (and every iteration inside a timestep if you like) in Solver Manager.

Thanks for the reply,

But if i want to find the resultant drag force for a particular timestep, is there such CEL expression to do it? or it can only find the force of a point.

Thanks, Deloat

Re: finding drag and lift force

Look in the CFX reference manual under the CEL reference manual. It gives a list of available functions. The function you are looking for is force_x, force_y, force_z.
