Hi, I am having a bit of a problem with the blocking on ICEM. I am modeling the flow of water around a small box and am having trouble blocking. When I split the blocks I allways end up being able to mesh part of the model and not the whole thing (does this make sense). Any help with this would be greatly appriciated. Chris

Hai Chris,

If you could post a picture and could explain more, it would be easy to help you.

Anyway, if you have the different blocks mentioned as different parts(water and box), it should mesh as whole and also as parts.

Regards,

Subha.

Subha, thanks for the responce. Basicaly I have constructed a box within a box (can send this to you if you like). I have created a block and split it along the edges of the smaller created block. However when i apply nodes to the outer edges of the larger box Only the smaller box meshes. thanks Chris

Hai Chris,

Sorry that I can't receive your file since I have access to the software only in my Company.

Try doing this.

Goto the mesh tab, select surface mesh setup and then select all the surfaces, then give some value to the maximum size and apply. Now try premshing the part. It should work now. Now change your node values for each edge you want to change.

Regards,

Subha.

Turn on display of edge association and edge bunching, and check that you block edges are actually associated with the correct geometry, and that they have a string of nodes along the edges.

Weird results from blocked meshing is usually the result of the blocks being assoicated wrong.
