Make line on curved boundary in CFXPost?

Dear All,

I have a curved surface within a heat transfer simulation. It is a domain interface boundary between a solid and fluid.

I would like to generate a line which lies on this boundary curved surface so that I can plot a chart of temperature and heat flux against position on the line. I also need to export the data on this line to Excel and interpolate it etc - that is why simple contour plots are no good to me here.

Can anyone tell me how I can generate a line on a curved surface in CFX to do this?

Many thanks for your help.

Andy

yes, it´s possible!

you have to create a polyline and also create a plane where you wanna make the extraction the points of heat flux and the temperature.

please, go to Tab "Location" on CFX-Post (ANSYS CFX-v11.0). You will use the method "boundary intersection"

Many thanks - this worked well.

You´re welcome!

Also have a look at the other Polyline creation options. If you have a contour plot, for instance, you can create a polyline for one of the contour levels.
