Hi,

Im trying to model a rudder that is fitted to a symmetry wall at the roof of a hemishperical region. There are inlet and outlet conditions that are fine on the front and rear sides of the hemisphere but I cant figure out what conditions are required at the sidewalls of the region? Supposedly the are not walls though, openings maybe? Heres a link to a picture, the highlighted areas are the ones Im talking about: http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2006-...9/untitled.JPG

Thanks Ro

Hi

Can you not just get rid of them completely and just extend you inlet and outlet to make a two half spheres? What is the situation you are modelling?

A Free Slip Wall will have the minimum impact on the solution.

Mind you if the wall is hemispeherical maybe the normal velocity=0 condition might actually be false.
