FLUENT or CFX

Hello, I have been assigned to do CFD modelling for burners. That could include detailed reaction mechanisms. Can anyone explain or recommend which package I should get. CFX or FLUENT? and why.. Thank you, John

Hi,

I have no idea about Fluent but CFX should have the capability to do this. Also check out the CFX-RIF flamelet library. Arrange a trial of both packages and see which one works best for what you are doing - although it will be a lot of work getting an accurate simulation so you will need help from CFX support to do a sensible comparison in the trial time.

Both codes are essentially equal in this regard and can simulate your problem.
