i JUST RECENTLy recived a license for ICEm

i LIKE TO MESH with icem AND then BRING IT IN TO cfx pre

WHEN i CREATED MY MESH IN icem after saving it, I didn't get the readble mesh file by cfx pre

as u know the format acceptable by cfx pre for ICEM is *.mesh

but when I SAVED IT in icem, it only created *tin, uns and prj file what is wrong?

Maybe you should try to select CFX as your solver in the "output to solver" menu. You could set up your bc there, too. Then: Write your output! hth...

You have to select solver (ANSYS CFX in your case) and write output from ICEM CFD not just save ICEM CFD format (*.uns).

I did exactly what u said but I do not see any file being written. So what is the problem?

It is writing this massge in that small box window

oading C:/Program Files/Ansys Inc/v110/icemcfd/win/icemcfd/output-interfaces/cfx5.bcinfo Solver ANSYS CFX supports unstructured mesh.

Be sure that in the window is written: "Done with translation". If not, something is wrong with your mesh and first you have to fix or repair it. No input was made. If everything is OK and translation was done, *.gtm or *.cfx5 input was written.

Hi Al Mazdeh

You will have to create parts in ICEM to define BCs in CFX-Pre. Easiest way to learn it would be to go through a tutorial.
