K epsilon Yplus

Hi

I'm using the K epsilon model and generally have Yplus values between 70 and 30. However there is a region where it drops to around 6 (due to a very low wall shear i think). Is this generally an issue that could corrupt my results in other regions of the flow?

Thanks

Re: K epsilon Yplus

Please have a look at page 96f of the "CFX Reference Guide". The different approaches regarding wall treatment are explained there. If your solution is corrupted by a low y_plus-value depends mostly on the influence the wall has on your flow. If its a free flow with shear layers you should be "safe". If it is a throughflow-problem, things are different. Maybe you would like to use another turbulence model, either.
