PVM problem

Hi,

I have installed CFX on two workstation with XP 64bit windows. But I am not able to use PVM parallel due to some problems. The problem is similar to that mentioned in the first message in this link below http://www.cfd-online.com/Forum/cfx_...cgi/read/13364

I have removed the spaces from the Hosts.ccl file and PVMHosts file. But still the same problem persists. The message shown by CFX is as follows: " An error has occurred in cfx5solve: Unable to add host slave1 (slave1) to the PVM environment: | 80000 ". Manually I am able to add the host using"-pvm-console".

CFX Launcher-->Show-->all; this shows the PVM_ROOT installation root with spaces. How to I override with this without spaces? All suggestions are welcome.PS I am able to ping the machines and also get an echo back for rsh from the slaves.

thanks,

Re: PVM problem

I went thru the portal site and found this is a known issue and would require SP1 to be installed which I shall try. But the site also gives the following remedy "If the platform for the host is not explicitly set in the hosts.ccl file, the slave incorrectly reports the machine type as Windows32 and the job fails as a result. To correct this simply add the relevant details to the hosts.ccl file." Can someone let me know how to add the the paltform in the Hosts file(never seen this option before).

Thanks,
