CFX - domain decomposition. Urgent!!!!

Hello, everyone

I have huge problem. I created and meshed geometry in TexGen and then transfered it into CFX for simulation but when I started creating boundary condition I noticed that my domain cannot be divided into surfaces. I was thinking is there any function in CFX Pre-processor which can decomposite my domain into separate surfaces.

I will be thankful for any reasonable advices.

Thanks in advance, Elena

Hi Elena!

Expand mesh tree, select the 2D region you want to break, right click and go to mesh editing function. Now you can edit your regions,group/ungroup them as per your requirement.

Hope this helps u.

Best Regards, Pankaj.

Hello, Pankaj

I tried what you adviced but it showed me the following message: "No mesh assemblies were selected", although I have chosen the domain I wanted to decomposite. I think I might be doing something wrong. Can you please tell me in more details how to do decomposition if I have one meshed block.

Thanks in advance, Elena

Hi,

It should be at the top of the mesh object tree as the primitive faces of the body. It does not appear for all mesh import types so you might be unlucky and not have this option - in that case your only option is to remesh with the boundary faces defined.
