Market Research - Help wanted.

Greetings.

I am a student at the University of Wales Lampeter, doing a study on commication in the computing industry. in particular those sectors of the industry dealing with CFD, the software required and the hardware required to use this software.

I am particularly interested in what software companies are most popular, and how they convey there product to the scientific commity, and how various insitutions decide between various options.

In addition, how the hardware companies work with the software to make there products accessable to commity, and where and how they advertise.
