CFD for rotary components
Hello everybody,
I am completely new to CFD field, but I did some exercises on normal flows through stationary objects using tutorials in Ansys CFX-11. Now I have a trouble when i am implementing on real term objects. I am trying to analyse airflow for a centrifugal blower as a sucking effect through a heat exchanger. I couldn't find any supportive tutorial to simulate rotary components. Hence i used a multiphase tutorial and I picked concepts of frozen rotor, rotational periodicity etc and tried implementing but cannot succeed for rotational behaviour of air flow. Can any body Pls help in finding a supportive tutorial so that I can have a joy. Thanks in advance. |

Hello Genius people,
pls respond back. |
Re: CFD for rotary components
Hi Ajit, Use Transient Rotor Stator model instead of Frozen Rotor.

Re: CFD for rotary components
Thanks farid. I will surely try this and get back 2 u asap.

Re: CFD for rotary components
You are most welcome Ajit.

Re: CFD for rotary components
hi ajit and Farid I think u should try single rotating domain becoz fluid is air. Then go for Two domain.
if u are trying Frozen-rotor or transient rotor model then u have to go for two domain. I think this problem can be handled in single domain. well, what is gap between blades and housing (outer vessel)? |
Re: CFD for rotary components
Hello Sanjay,
Thanks for your suggestion. Kindly forgive my ignorance but Is there anyway you can post me a hyperlink for any tutorial for simulating rotary components, please. |
