Default Using Inflation With 2D Extrusions in CFX-Mesh

I am trying to model flow over a curved plate in 2D.

I am using a partial 2D extrusion. What happens in the boundary layer is important to me so I am using inflation layers which mesh well on the curved surface.

It solves with no errors but convergence is non-existent and after checking the mesh checks the solver outputs it reveals my max aspect ratio is 13670.7!!!

Now I understand the idea of inflation layers is that they are high aspect ratio but this seems a tad excessive. The only way I see to reduce this is by reducing the body spacing (To reduce thickness of partial extrusion) or do a full extrusion. Both will increse the size of my mesh considerably.

Can anyone offer any advice please?
