transient time reg

HI all when we are using transient scheme, how to take total time in simulation.I did an experiment,to get steady state it took 4hrs.In the simulation should i give 4hrs as total time?,if this is the case how to take time steps. If i give time step as 1s and no.of coefficient loops as 10,the solver takes weeks to solve.

please tell me how to solve this type of problem.

Thanks alot in advance

Hi,

Ya, thats true that 1 sec with 10 loops and depending on your physics and mesh will probably take time. But why don`t you try to find of the timestep size which is the time scale of your problem. In case you are not sure you could make a trail n error about the timestepping .And you can input total number of timesteps ( Number of iterations).

I hope this helps
